Maurizio Bianco

Maurizio, a graduate in Business Economics from Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa, initiated his career in 1986 at Tokai Bank in London. Spending three years in the bank's emerging Eurobond Division, he later pursued an MBA from IMD business school in Lausanne in 1989. Following his education, Maurizio joined the Milan office of Bain & C.
Over the course of nine years at Bain, Maurizio worked across various industries and company sizes, specializing in financial institutions, media, and industrial SMEs. His expertise encompassed corporate turnarounds and restructurings.
In 1998, he transitioned to the private equity division of Euromobiliare, the investment bank of the Credito Emiliano Group. In 2006, Maurizio was selected to establish the Italian office of the Cognetas private equity European fund, later renamed Motion. Since 2018, he has concentrated his efforts on private equity club deals.
Maurizio brings extensive experience in advising and arranging private equity investments in Italy, contributing to over 20 transactions in consumer, retail, and industrial companies. The current investment model emphasizes strong alignment with entrepreneurs, a focus on growth, ethical practices, and minimal leverage.
Notable recent investments include Next Hydraulics (exited) and Deghi Spa. Maurizio currently serves on the board of Deghi Spa and various holding companies.
